What's your guess?!

I had my 37 week appointment today! (I'm actually only 36 1/2 weeks, when counting Friday to Friday... for those of you keeping track. My due date is November 23rd.) I'm measuring at 33, which is pretty good. My doctor said I was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced, but also that my cervix was posterior. He thought I would go early but also wants to take me at 39 weeks if I haven't gone yet. (Hannah came on her own at 39 weeks.) I'm not quite sure how I feel about being induced. I've always kind of figured the baby will come when it is ready (I know that isn't always true... but for the most part.) Now if I was one to go over my due date, I might be all over being induced. However, there are pluses, and not just the conveniences. The doctor wants to take me at 39 weeks because I had such a hard, long labor with Hannah and they still had to use forceps. I'm certainly voting for an easier labor and delivery! Any thoughts?!

Anyway, I want your guesses! When do you think our little guy will be born (date and time)? And how big is he going to be (weight and length)? We are getting close! Isn't this exciting?!

I have been induced with all of my 3. Love it but don't know any difference. I vote for November 17th at 1 o'clock in the morning. He will be 6 lbs. 2 oz and 18 inches long.

Just know if you do go at night. Call me and I will run over until you have family come to take care of Hannah. She is welcome to stay with us but I figure grandparents will get that privilege.

Do you have your bags (and Hannah's) packed?

Liz

I am excited for you. My vote in Nov 13th 6:00am 7lbs 5oz 21 1/2 inches long.

I think he will be born on November 16 at 10:00 pm and weigh 6 pounds 5 ounces and be 20 incheas long! Can't wait to meet him! Let me know if you need help with Hannah--she's welcome to come play with us!

I have to agree with you that the baby will come when he's ready (except in the rarest of circumstances). But then, I'm the girl who had a homebirth, so most people don't take me seriously, or think I'm insane or something. All I know is that my twins came at 38.5 weeks, they started my labor when they were ready. They were healthy and strong, and required no NICU or breathing help, which is practically unheard of for twins that are "taken" at the common 36 weeks. If you're interested in some more natural "induction" techniques, email me at april 7 marie at hotmail dot com. Good luck!

I'll vote for Nov. 14 at 2:00 am He'll be 6lbs 2 oz. Good luck with everything. I've been induced both times and my doctor wants to induce me at 39 weeks here. I've never had any problems being induced or anything like that. I've heard it's more painful to be induced than going on your own because the contractions come so fast and hard. Good luck with everything, we're really excited to see pictures of this little guy.

I agree with April. I was induced with 2, natural with 2. The natural ones went faster, I think because my body was ready for it.

I'm sure this one will be faster than Hannah. The first baby is usually the longest. Ethan I labored for 12 hrs and they've all gotten progressively faster. If I were you, I'd let things go how they go, unless the baby's in distress. I just can't imagine how an induction would make things go smoother. It just hurts more! Good luck. I'm sure things will work out either way you do it!

Look, here's the deal. You schedule the day, drop the kids off, put your stylin' hospital gown on, get a little shot and the doctor does the rest. It'll be painless. You're baby boy will be born on November 17th and 11:36 am. He'll weigh 7 lbs 3 oz and be 19 1/2 inches long.

Now, before anyone jumps all over me please know that I'm just teasing you ladies. You are incredible and I admire you so much.

Good luck Nat!

hmmmmmmmmmm. My guess is November 18th at 2:36 am. Weight 6 lb 12 oz, height 20 in.

I've never been induced so not sure what it's like. My sister was induced for both her babies and loved it (as it was fast and she got an epidural straight away). In fact, when I told her that giving birth was really painful, she said "really? it didn't hurt that bad!" I wanted to punch her!!!! But, I guess if that's what an induction is like I'd take it!
I am soooo excited for you and can't believe it's nearly here! Don't worry about YW a bit! I've got it all covered. You just RELAX from here on out!

I'll vote for Nov. 20 at 4:14 a.m. and I was induced with all four of mine (Savannah was 10 days late) and I loved being induced because we could plan everything but I don't know any other way:) Good luck!

Ashley

So is there a prize for whomever gets the most things correct? :)

I wish my babies would come on their own, but they didn't and I liked my inducements. As long as I had my epidural things went smoothly. (You can plan it and then sleep through some of the labor!) Some people just get impatient (and don't need to be induced), but there are loads of reasons to be induced too, just like their are reasons for c-sections. Those great inventions and other medical advancements have all helped us child-bearers live through labors and many more babies survive. So I say listen to the doctors, your own instincts and the Lord and everything will work out how it should. I hope my babies start getting smarter and come out before they rip my stomach to shreds and grow to be 10+lbs!!

My guess:
You'll go into labor on your own on Sunday November 16th. You'll head over to the hospital after breathing through contractions at home for quite a while around 11:00 a.m. You'll be dilated to about a 5 when you go in and after 8 more hours or so of labor out will come your handsome boy at 6:11 p.m.
weighing 6lbs. 11 oz.
measuring 19 inches long
Good luck!

P.S. If you are induced, it's great!

Molly

I was induced with Ali and her labor turned into a c-section. They said she was ready to come, but I don't think she was. I don't think I will be induced again unless I am forced because of complications.

I have no idea when your little guy will come - let's say Nov. 18 around 8pm weighing 6lbs. 8oz. and 19.5 inches long. Can't wait to find out! Good luck with the last few weeks!

Molly

PS - Andie was a easy labor and came 10 days on her own - 6 hours from the time my water broke and I felt hardly no pain.

Ali was induced 5 days early and it was a 12 hour labor turning into a c-section.

So - I preferred Andie's labor - it was the best! and, "unusual for a first time mom!"

Just thought I would share a little more! And yes, I hate spiders on doors at this time of year or any other time of year for that fact!

Jenny

hmmm... I guess I'll say the 15th at 12:47. I'm excited to be an aunt again and for another boy, wahoo! Good luck with everything Nat. We'll keep praying for you.

I am so excited for you! I bet that Hannah is getting so excited. My guess is Nov. 15th at 3:00pm. I think that it is crazy that you are already dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced, thats great. I was only that when I went into labor with Paige. I was induced with Bryton. To tell you the truth I think that there are pros and cons to both. I would not say that I prefer one over the other, it's just so great to get the baby here. I love the room that you did for him, you have great taste. Anyways good luck, let me know if you need anything.

Natalie

Here's my mom's predictions:
"Holy cow! No wonder you are tired! It's not the baby's fault! I can't believe how much you get done!

As for my prediction...You have to keep working as hard as you have been lately in order to come early. So let's go coat shopping!

Bryson will be born on Friday November 21, at 12:21 pm (afternoon).
He'll come on his own. (You can make it- it's less than three more weeks.)
He'll weigh 7 lbs 2 oz. (just like you!) He is a boy after all and he will weigh more than Hannah did. Besides... he will stay in longer than Hannah did.
He'll be 21 inches long (long and skinny!)
His lucky numbers will be any combination of the numbers 1, 2 and 7.
I'll come over after work on Friday and pick up Hannah. Or if I'm pretty sure, I can just take Friday off. Hannah can spend the weekend with us. We'll bring her over to see you and Bryson and Nic.
What hospital? Utah Valley?
Ok!

Sure love ya!
