Board and Batten Inspiration

So the internet on my computer hasn't been working, which is where all my pictures are downloaded. (I'm using Nic's laptop now.) But I can't wait to show you our board and batten! I really, really love it! We did our downstairs family room area and "the brown room" downstairs (as we have called it - an extra room that has been used to collect stuff) which is now Hannah's new room!

There are a million and one tutorials out there... I thought I'd share a couple of my inspirations and then hopefully I'll be able to share my pictures soon!

always something...

...sneak peak...

Poem by Hannah

Hannah wrote this poem all on her own, just for fun. I think it's pretty cute!

Translation:
You are my best best
with a twinkling star
in the night
the star is shining so bright
in my heart I think Heavenly Father
is making me think of
that. I am sleeping
in the night
I turn on my lamp :)

Conversation with Bry today

Bryson: Why Heavenly Father love us?
Me: Because you are His child. You are a child of Heavenly Father, a child of God. He knows how awesome you are. He watches over you.
Bryson: Earth is scary.
Me: Why is the earth scary?
Bryson: Because Heavenly Father doesn't live here.
Me: But He lives in Heaven and he is watching over you and protecting you.
Bryson: Why Heavenly Father love us?

I'm not exactly sure what he talked about in Primary today... The earth is scary. We have to realize that and be ready, but I hope my kids know who they are, that Heavenly Father does love them, and He will help them combat this scary earth!

Stats

Bry woke up yesterday crying because his leg was hurting then was limping around the house all morning. Nic told him we'd better just cut his leg off. (Sounds like a dad doesn't it!?) So when Bry found out we were going to the doctor, he looked at me very worried and quiet-like and said, "He going to cut my leg off?"

I took Easton and Bryson for their well-child checkups and we made it out without any legs being cut off! I haven't done great at recording Easton's stats so I thought I'd better get these down:

On February 1st, 2012
Bryson weight: 25.3 lbs - less than 3rd percentile
Height 36" - 10th percentile

Easton weight: 16.3 lbs - 25th percentile (with helmet on)
Height: 25 1/4" - 10th percentile
Head: 80th percentile (yes, that was without the helmet on)

9 pounds to go and Easton will have caught up with Bryson. For some reason I don't think it will take too long! Easton isn't a "big" kid by any means, but he actually has little rolls on his legs. Its pretty cute. He had to get 4 shots (one was for flu) and one oral immunization. He was pleasant all day yesterday! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its the same today! We have a helmet appointment tomorrow...

Here are some past stats:

August 16th, 2011
Bryson weight: 24.4 lbs
Easton weight: 8.6 lbs
Easton height: 20"

November 7th, 2011-Easton
Weight: 12.9 lbs - 20th percentile
Height: 23.25" - 15th percentile

December 7th, 2011-Easton
Weight: 14 lbs - 22nd percentile
Height: 24 1/4" - 16th percentile
Head: 85th percentile
