(I never posted this entry and it wasn't ever finished... but here it is anyway.)
Saturday, May
I am exhausted. Bryson has been waking up two times at night lately. I told Nic I was ready to be done! Bryson is 6 months old and needs to be sleeping through the night. I told Nic I hadn't slept through the night in nearly a year! So Nic was going to get up with Bry at night, because I wasn't going to feed him... Bryson must have know he wasn't going to be fed because he slept all night--13 hours! From 7 pm until 8 am.
Sunday
Bryson wasn't himself. He's usually such a happy little guy. We went about our regular activities, but he was extra ornery.
I went to bed at 8 pm with a migraine. Bryson woke up at midnight. After getting him back to sleep, I couldn't get back to sleep. I stayed in bed until 5 am, then (finally) got up and wrote Lisa and read part of my mission journal.
Monday
Not himself still. Bry slept til midnight and was obviously not feeling well and wouldn't go back down. He ended up staying with us in our bed throughout the night, which meant none of us slept well. Guess we'll postpone that sleep training until after he's feeling well and after his surgery.
Tuesday, May
I decided to take Bryson to the doctor. I thought he was either teething or had an ear infection, but since he had surgery scheduled for Thursday I wanted to make sure he was okay.
Saw the different doctor than our normal pediatrician. He said Bryson had a sore throat from a virus as well as an ear infection. He prescribed amoxacilin. I gave Bry a little before his afternoon nap, then Nic him some about 7:30 before bed.
Wednesday
Bryson woke up with a bad rash all over his trunk: face, head, back, chest and belly. I called the doctor and got an appointment for 12:10... Of course it was nearly 17 hours after Bryson had been given the medicine and the rash wasn't as bad. We saw the same dr. He wasn't worried. Said it was probably from the virus that was causing his sore throat. I said, "So you don't think its from the amoxacilin?" Doc said, "No... but if it is, its probably just because hes never had antibodies before and this is the way his body is reacting to them." He told me to continue giving the medicine. Gave more before Bry's afternoon nap. When he woke up the rash was really bad again.
That night my dad and father-in-law came over to help Nic give Bryson a blessing for his surgery the next day. My father-in-law is a pharmacist and recommended not giving Bry the med any more but asking up at Primary Children's tomorrow, since we would be there.
Thursday
Bry woke up around midnight--fed him. He had to stop eating by 3:30 am in preparation for surgery. I woke up at 2:30 am anticipating my alarm clock set for 3. 3:00 am fed Bryson. He needed a diaper change... he was now wide awake. Then he got hiccups. Finally got him to sleep in his car seat just before 4 am. My alarm clock was going to go off at 4 :15 anyway... so I just stayed up, made muffins, got ready, etc. We all headed out about 5 am. Hannah was now wide awake too. We dropped her off at my sister Ashley's.
Got to Primary Children's, registered, etc.
