Hannah is doing really well with potty training. She hasn't had an accident in nearly 2 weeks during the day, including nap time! I put Hannah in diapers the first two nights of potty training and knew that for her we just needed to do panties 100% of the time. So in the morning I just expect to be changing the bed and giving her a bath. But she has woken up dry occasionally, in fact the last 2 mornings! She is also great about telling us when she needs to go, even when we are in the middle of playing... and especially at stores. (She thinks its fun, so we seem to go a lot at stores! Which makes everything take so much longer!) I've learned two things that really help and motivate Hannah, both with moving into a big bed and with potty training. First, it helps to prep her, to talk about things for a while and get her excited about them. Second, when she sees her friends and cousins, whom she sees as her peers--even if they are older than her, doing it (going in the potty or sleeping in a big bed) she knows she can do it too and wants to. I've been so proud of her and her progress! She even says, "I'm proud of me!"
We've been telling her how big she is now that she is using the potty and she has said, "I can go to school now!" She know she has to be "big" to go to school... and well, she's big now! My mom asked her what school she was going to and she said, "the kid school!" We've told her she has to be a bit bigger, but she hasn't given up yet, she keeps asking to go to school.
She also keeps talking about being baptized. She'll just randomly bring it up. The other day when she brought it up when some friends were over, my friend asked her if she had just seen someone get baptized. Hannah replied, "yes." When asked who, Hannah said, "Jesus." Also one day she said she was going to get baptized with John. I asked who John was and she replied, "John the Baptist!" I explained that Daddy would baptize her. We've talked about how, so she'll randomly talk about how she is going to "go down the water" and "Daddy help me." Also when she talks about her age, she will add, "when I 8, I get baptized!"
Here's a few other things she's said lately:
We often go to the ball and dance with our princes. Hannah uses one of her dolls as a prince and Bryson is my prince. One afternoon when Bry woke up from his nap, Hannah heard him crying and said, "There's our prince."
One of the songs she likes me to sing to her is You Are My Sunshine. After the first verse she'll always say, "Sing, make the boy cry" referring to the second verse. The song doesn't even mention that it is a boy.
In the bathtub, "I make bubbles out of my bum!"
Hannah says that her and I have "too much hair" as opposed to Dad and Bryson who don't have very much.
She often wants to "do our blog" and pretend to type at the computer.
She sure drives me crazy, but she often makes me smile and laugh. Hannah is also a wonderful big sister. In this picture she had climbed up on my bed, where Bryson was, laid down by him, and gave him a hug.
Bryson is at such a fun stage. He is very smiley and will often laugh and laugh! Nic is great at making him giggle. Whenever I grab the camera to try to capture his laughter, he stops. One of these days, though, I'll post it.He is also being a great sleeper! He usually goes down at 7:30 or 8:00 and will wake up between 5:00 and 7:30 the next morning. If he wakes up at 5, he'll go right back to sleep after being fed.
He's been a good little buddy for me too. He's gone on our last two YW activites with me. I've been pumping and we keep trying to give him a bottle, but so far haven't had any success. So although it would be nice for him to stay home with Nic, he has been a great little trooper.

Seriously So blessed huh? Me too! How neat that Hannah keeps talking about being baptized. You must be a good mom and teacher. I put Graysen in diapers at night at first but once she was good at going potty during the day we stopped diapers altogether. She has never wet the bed. You are so lucky that Bryson sleeps so well. Graysen looked at the pictures of your cute kids with me on the blog and keeps asking, "Can I go to Hannah's house for a little bit?" ... "Will you please please please take me to Hannah's house now?"
Love ya!
P.S. Cute new blog layout and design, nice!
Okay, your Hannah is such a dream! Potty training can be wretched, but she sounds like she's really catching on. And I love her "tub" comment! :)
you are a great mom natalie! and have some pretty stinkin cute kids too.
I envy your being at the tail end of potty training, Daylen is showing absolutely no signs of readiness yet. What fun I have to look forward to! Hannah says the cutest things, she sounds like such a smart little girl!
Nat, you are so blessed! I think it's great that you blog about it. I like this new blog, the colors are easy to read. What cute kids!
