My cute, little, sweet Hannah is driving me CRAZY! She wants to do everything... I mean, EVERYTHING, by herself! I turn on the water for her to wash her hands and she whines, "I want to do it by myself!" I turn off the light, "all by myself." I help her get down from her chair, "all by myself!" Whine, whine, whine!
Then there is the listening... or lack thereof! Ahhh! She is a very independent spirit and it really is one of the things I love about her, but my, oh my my patience is wearing very thin!

Isn't it funny how these kids can make you so happy and so crazy at the same time. Heidi is in a very difficult stage right now. I feel like I'm going to lose my mind most of the time. If you have any good ideas let me know.

That is so funny, because I totally can relate. Molly just the same way. Today I actually decided to record every fit that we throw... that should be a long list!
Mara is the same way! Something that I have had to learn is just to take a deep breath and let her do it. She loves to be independent, and has learned to ask me when she needs help.
There are those few times when I am in a hurry to do something and we struggle, and that is when I need to step back the most. Good luck.... This too shall pass!
Oh, you gotta love kids at this age! Nathan still drives me crazy with this same thing (and he's 4!!)
Hang in there - it is only a phase. They all go through it.
