Bryson usually sleeps during church, so his little schedule was all messed up from the moment we walked into church and he was getting so much attention. He started to fuss as church started and began to scream during the opening song. I didn't take him out, knowing his blessing would be right away. He continued to scream during the opening prayer, so I took him out into the foyer when the bishop got up to make some announcements. Then it was our turn, we made quite the grand entrance, walking in as everyone watched and waited and Bry was screaming. I handed Bryson to Nic. Still screaming, my grandpa, our dads, brothers, and bishop gathered in the circle and Nic began the blessing... and Bryson stopped. He was silent. He must have been listening, paying attention to the blessing he was receiving and feeling the power of the men standing around him. When the blessing concluded and Nic returned to our bench. Bryson began to cry once again. I took him out and it took him a long time to settle down. It was amazing to me that he stopped his screaming just for the blessing.
We stayed to the rest of our church meetings (Bry continued to be fussy) and then hosted a luncheon with family at our home afterwards. We served Hawaiian haystacks (with everyone's contributions). It turned out wonderful. We received so much support and love from our family. I loved having them all in our home. Isn't family wonderful. They are such a strength to me.
The day turned out wonderful. I am so grateful to have our little Bryson and to have the opportunity to be his mother.
(Obviously he wasn't too happy during picture time, but isn't he handsome!)

Bryson looked so cute in his shirt and tie. I was impressed with how he stopped crying shortly after Nic started the blessing. Thanks for having us all over. I thought it was a great day. Thanks for letting Lincoln chew on all your toys! We love you guys!
I decided to stop by from Sarah's blog. Your blog is always so positive to read! Bryson looks adorable in that tie! How wonderful that he was quiet for the actual blessing. I would imagine that would make an impression on a lot of people. You'd think that a baby would be even more upset but obviously he (and everyone participating) was blessed during his blessing! (Sarah's mom)
I loved how he stopped crying for the blessing. That really was remarkable.
I am so thankful that my family and I were able to witness Bryson's amazing blessing yesterday. The spirit was so strong. It was amazing that he was so calm as he was receiving his blessing. I think everyone could feel how powerful the priesthood is.
What a handsome little guy. I'm glad he quieted down for the blessing to be given. He must have known the importance of it.
I loved noticing that he quieted down. What a neat moment that you can explain to him when he gets older. He is sure cute. I loved the socks. Glad you got to enjoy family. Fun memories!
I love the tie! It makes him look like a little man! That is amazing that he stopped crying for the blessing . . . what a blessing for you guys!
How wonderful. He is so handsome. I am glad he calmed for the blessing, its hard to concentrate on anything with a crying baby.

Holy Moly! Why didn't I see this post until today? MY Rss feed must have been slow or something... weird. Thanks for a wonderful day, you a such a terrific hostess! I was sad without my hubby and kids at your house, but grateful for the opportunity it gave me to just sit with Bryson and hold him and talk to him. It was the longest I ever have. SO great!
