When I asked Nic what he wanted for his birthday, he said, "A Transformers cake!" So that's what he got... because I love him so much! (He may be getting older, but he is definitely still young at heart!) It ended up being a bit more of a processes than I was planning on, especially the frosting. We were out of eggs so I had to wait til after nap time, then we went birthday shopping, went to the ER... I finally started the frosting after the kids were in bed on Saturday night. probably at 9:30. Of course the frosting didn't fluff up like it was supposed to, then the colors were totally off... But I got it done! And it really was fun to make.
Poor Nic, didn't get much special treatment during the day. I had ward counsel and leadership meeting. He was the champ husband and father who helped watch the kids, pick up and set up chairs for my meeting. We did have steak and potatoes for dinner. Then at 7pm some of Nic's family came over to help us celebrate and eat cake and ice cream! We had a wonderful time with them.
