Wicked

Saturday was the night! For Christmas, my parents got us all, kids and spouses, tickets to see the Broadway musical Wicked. And it was FABULOUS! A big, BIG thanks to Mom and Dad! We LOVED it! The characters/actors were amazing. I was especially impressed by Ga-linda :) whose voice was especially in-character. She cracked me up! I must say I really loved it all! What an awesome experience.

Ever since we were told about the tickets, I've been worried! I would have a 4 or 5 month old baby and I was nervous to leave him. We've tried to get Bryson to take a bottle, to no avail. I was stressing who we would leave him with. I kept trying to think of people in Salt Lake that could watch him, so he'd be that much closer. There was my cousin... but she has two young kids of her own to care for. We considered having Nic stay home, that way Bryson would at least be screaming for his own dad and we wouldn't be putting someone else through it. About 2 weeks prior to the big night we started working with Bry to get him to go to sleep earlier! And a few times if he woke up I would put him back to sleep about an hour later without feeding him so he knew he could go to sleep without being feed. Well the week before, my wonderful mother-in-law, Marj, volunteered to watch the kids... knowing full well she could be caring for a screaming child the entire time! What an angel! Well to add to the superb night Bryson did wonderful! I fed him and got him to sleep by 6 pm. I guess he woke up for an hour or an hour and a half and then went back to sleep very well! What a blessing!
We were able to drive up with Todd and Ellie, which was fun. Then during the production we all sat separately... that was the only possible way to get tickets. Not two seats were together. There was a row between where Nic and I sat. It would have been nice to hold hands or look at each other during especially funny parts... But what a fun night. I wish we could do things like this more often. Well, first we need children that don't rely on me for their only source of food! Then maybe a bit more money :) A big thanks to Clyde and Marj for watching the kids! And again a big thanks to Mom and Dad for the fabulous experience and wonderful memory!

How fun! My mom got us tickes for Wicked in May here in Omaha. She's seen it three times and just raves about it. We're so excited!

What a grand night. Chad and I did end up sitting by each other thanks to him trying to be more assertive. YES!

Josh and Jenna

It was incredibly hard to get tickets to that show! We tried for hours as soon as it opened for sale...no luck unless we wanted to sit solo like you. Glad you got to go!

Gasaway Family

you know if you ever need a sitter up North again you can ALWAYS call us! Olivia would love love love to play with Hannah and Bryson... he would be no trouble. We are used to hearing screaming babies. really, I wouldn't mind if he screamed the whole time. Anyway- I've heard that show is great. Sounds like you agree! I'm glad you got to go!
