Finding I'm Not Superwoman

I recently read a blog post of a friend's with the exact same title as mine. She said she had dropped her kids off at a relatives so she could get some things done. It was obvious she was feeling guilty that she wasn't able to do it all, all on her own. I read and thought about how its okay to get help...

Then that same day I was telling my mom about my crazy life, a big event at my home, and all the things I needed to get done. She offered to come pick up the kids the next day. I thanked her but said no I was fine. At 9:30 that night, I called her back after feeling overwhelmed, remember the post I had read and reminding myself it is okay to get help. I told my mom I realized I really couldn't do everything and she (my sweet mother) had already offered to help... and it was okay to accept that help! After all I'm not superwoman!

My wonderful mother came the next day, took the kids to the park, then fed us lunch (which she had brought with her), read stories with Hannah and folded my laundry! Wow! I couldn't have accomplished everything without her... at least not sane and happy! Too often I try to do it all, all by myself and feel so guilty when I can't do it all perfectly, with a smile, and with my kids hair done and acting like angels! I'm thankful to an angel mother for her help and for a friends reminder that no, I'm not superwoman... and I'm not the only one.

your funny Nat- it sure seems like you do it all! If there was an appropriate name for you.. it would be super wonder woman ;)
It is good to have help. Sometimes it is just as nice to be able to give help as it is to get it!

um I think you are Superwoman despite the extra help!

Are you sure you put the right title? I'm pretty sure it should say, "I'm Superwoman!" You amaze me with all the great, righteous things you do.
