Happy Valentines! We had a fabulous day yesterday. I didn't have any extra church meetings, which was really nice. We loved being together and eating yummy food! I thought I'd share what we did... ate!
Earlier this week, Hannah and I made some fun sugar cookie sandwiches. I have a cookie press, that I used for the first time to make the hearts (but you could just make them circle or use a little heart shaped cookie cutter). I got the idea from a Pillsbury calendar, but did mine with a different recipe.

Our fundraiser for Young Women's was Valentines. We delivered a big heart sugar cookie with either a rose or balloon. Then a group of YW (and leaders) sang a song with actions... a valagram! It has been a busy week, but the fundraiser turned out wonderfully and was a lot of fun too! Nic got valentines for Hannah and I!
On Valentines morning we ate pink heart pancakes with buttermilk syrup, a strawberry "yogurt drink" (as Hannah calls it) and some eggs. Yum.

I decided to make a nice Valentines dinner on Sunday. Knowing some of foods were more adult-like, I decided to make jello for Hannah. (I never make jello!) Here's the recipe I followed in Family Fun magazine. It definitely took time, but I thought it was really fun. Unfortunately, Hannah gagged on it! She only took one bite!
We ate on china... so fancy! I made yummy bbq ribs, hassleback potatoes, homemade rolls, asparagus, and served blood oranges and pink lemonade and then cheese cake for dessert. The dinner was really fun and felt very special. But am glad I don't cook like this all the time... It is a lot of work. I started on Saturday so it wasn't so busy on Sunday. I really enjoyed doing it though and loved spending time with my cute little family, whom I love so much!

Super cute cookies. Looks like a yummy super fancy meal. I really want to try hassleback potatoes now; I haven't heard of them before. We love asparagus at our house too. I saw that jello in family fun, how did YOU like it? Your rolls and all look Mmm mmm good!
Looks so good! I love the jell-o heart! What a fun day and those cookies are so cute! What a big project for YW!
Looks like a fun day. I wouldn't have been able to use the asparagus since I would be the only one eating it. The jello looks good and I am curious if you liked it!
The jello was good... it was jello... and I'd rather get my sugar intake in other ways. But it was fun and felt special. Bryson liked it.
fun fun fun, what cute ideas for Valentines day! Happy Valentines Day!! Love you!
