Contractions - a call to action

It's been a rough couple nights. On Thursday night, aside from the crazy movements and baby hiccups, it became apparent that my little guy had dropped giving me lower pain and pain down my legs. I had some contractions throughout the day yesterday, then last night I had quite a few hard contractions. At 10:00 pm for about 45 minutes, then I woke at about 12:45 until 2:00 am, and a few at 5:00 am. I have definitely experienced more intense contractions with my labor with the other 2 kiddos, but these weren't Braxton Hicks either... at least I didn't think so. The books would probably called it "false labor."

Although somewhat exciting (this means I'm getting closer and things are progressing), this is not good! For one, I'm only 34 weeks so the baby can't come yet. Second, I cannot do this for another 5-6 weeks! (That just makes me want to cry!) And third, I'm not ready! These contractions definitely were a call to action! I now have a 'to do' list a mile long, things such as:
  • Find and put up a crib!
  • Get down, wash, organize and find a place for baby's clothes
  • Clean and organize my entire house... and life
  • Clean out the fridge & make freezer meals
  • Make sure YW stuff is organized and passed off
  • Get my hair cut and colored and my toenails painted (always a must, right!?)
  • Pack my hospital bag and bags for the kids
  • Oh, and pick a name! Any suggestions?!

Nat, what can I do to help? I'd love to come spend a day and help you clean and organize and whatever! Please let me know!

Wow! When do you go to the doctor next?

Natalie

Thanks everyone. I guess I was asking for sympathy, wasn't I?! We are plugging along. My next appointment is tomorrow morning. My doctor usually doesn't start "checking" until 37 weeks. But I am anxious to hear what he says. Also, thankfully I haven't had any big contraction episodes since I posted!
