Before (cRaZy!)
After
The venture has only just begun (in baby steps, of course). So I am wondering what works for you. What are your organizing and keeping-clean tips!? I am happy to report that my spice and cookbook cupboard is still organized from the last go round a year or so ago.... so it really is getting it to the point that really works and is functional. For me it is often (unfortunately) buying some turn tables or extra shelves.
Next up, bathroom (drawers, under-the-sink area, and linen closet). So how do you organize your makeup, hair stuff, and all that blah, blah, blah stuff... especially with children who love to get in drawers and cupboards?! Then after that, under the kitchen sink. Tips?

Here is the biggest thing that helps me: get rid of clutter. The less you have, the less there is to mess up. I loved it when my house was staged because 3/4ths of our possesions were boxed up and put in storage. There was no clutter. I didn't even miss 99% of it all. Unfortunately, I wasn't around when the movers packed everything up. I don't know where a thing is and I have to open up and unpack every little thing. Everything is a mess right now!
I totally agree. My bathroom was organized after I took everything out that I don't use (amazing!) and put everything I only occasionally use in a box under my bed. Only things I use on a daily/weekly basis are in there. Incredible how cutting things down can increase peaceful harmony :)
That is always a goal. I LOVE to go through and dejunk stuff. It is thrilling, exhilerating, etc. The bathroom cupboard or drawer is my biggest pet peeve. I haven't found what I am looking for to help with that yet. I am thinking in the top drawer (our catch all drawer for the bathrooom) to put a wire mesh utensil thingy. Not sure. I don't want to buy it so this is a pain. I love your turn tables. They look great. Good luck in keeping it organized.
I would agree with the above comments- take out things you only use every now and then and put them in another location. I have to put all my lotions/creams/make-up up really HIGH. I made some shelves and put them over the toilet- above the medicine cabinet- so that my girls couldn't get into my stuff!! They LOVE to pull out every thing in the drawers- pretty much every day- so they are NEVER organized. I don't keep a whole lot in there though, so it works out ;) It is a pain that my stuff is so high- I have to stand on the toilet to reach it, but I know that there is no possible way the girls can ever reach it! I do the same with all our chemicals and cleaners too. ALL, and I mean ALL of our cleaning stuff is on the top shelf of our linen closet. I now keep appliances under the sink like our blender and rice cooker. It is weird, I know... but it doesn't get cluttered under there and I know the girls will never eat or get into anything bad.
I should have commented on your nice pantry when I noticed it yesterday. I am working on that to; how to KEEP things organized.
Have you ever checked out flylady.com? She offers lots of great "declutter everything permanantly" (or so she says) ideas. I haven't tried many but she did finally help me to "declutter" my kitchen sink which was an amazing feat. I constantly had clean dishes waiting in the sink to be put away.
Are you nesting? Oh wait - I guess that's just me. I have been organizing too - still have A LOT to do - but it feels great. I like the turn table idea!! I don't have any specific tips b/c I think everyone organizes differently - but I have heard of fly lady and one thing to help me keep on top, that I heard of her, was to set the timer - for 10 or 15 minutes....focus on one thing and you will be amazed how much you can get done before it beeps!! :)
Good Luck!
Thank you all for your comments... Keep them coming.
And to clarify now, NO I am not nesting :) And I play the "10 minute game" with Hannah all the time to help clean up! (My mom taught me that one!)
Its true I do have too much stuff. Time to de-clutter!
And, I haven't checked out flylady, but will now.
Thanks friends!
