Signing Time frustration!

Ug! So as many of you know we love Signing Time! and were extremely excited to have Hannah picked to come participate in filming! We told everyone we know! I practiced and practiced... and practiced with Hannah. Some of the signs were really hard for her, but after so much practicing she got them down (at least as much as a 1 year old... almost 2 year old can, in my opinion). We went up to Midvale for a wardrobe fitting (and left 2 of Hannah's cute summer outfits with them), arranged our schedule for filming, etc. But our filming day was canceled due to rain. Of course, it was the last day of filming! And the other kids on our day had been scheduled another day previously to come up... but for some reason we had not. I had to contact them, telling them to PLEASE not forget about us. We kept being told we would be contacted and rescheduled, but it never happened. The saddest part is that we weren't acknowledged or apologized to. Err! It has been so frustrating to know what is going on, how we are going to get our clothes back, and what, if any, the next step is. I am the one initiating the contact (emails and phone calls) and I seem to be ignored. Brother.

I have tried to stay positive and nice... and yet demanding. I want to keep it on good terms, because if possible I would still love to have Hannah participate. We really do love Signing Time! (And thats not just me, Hannah loves it too!) If not this time around, I hope they would say we get to be in it next time they film.

I sat down to write this... and I finally got a phone call back from them! I called up yesterday and the person I needed to talk to was on the phone. I left a message, being told she would call me right back. It never happened. So today I called again. She was in a meeting. I left a message on her voice mail, but immediately called back, telling them I needed to talk to someone to get this resolved. The receptionist, said she knew about the situation, and knew this person was planning on calling me today... she was working with one of the owners to figure out what to do. Anyway, she did call me back just now. She was very nice and apologetic. They are still doing editing and plan on doing some "pick up shots" (filming for things that didn't work out or that they need more of) and will contact us for that. She also said they will mail our clothes back to us. She'll find out more information and get back to us in the next couple of days...

So we'll see if anything really comes out of this. I'm bummed, but still optimistic.

That is frustrating. I was telling Marc about it (because he works in film). He said this stuff happens all the time. Anyway, I am down at Utah Valley almost every Tues and Wed until the end of July. It is best to come between noon and 1:00. Call (801-644-4508) or email me if you want to come up. Also I hope you don't mind, but I borrowed your baby widget idea. It is so cute!

Hopefully things work out - or at least you get your clothes back!!

We are so sad. But all the practice wasn't wasted. Hannah is now so super duper quadruper smart. Any more updates?

Sorry about the signing time stuff, that is so frustrating. I got the pay it forward cards yesterday. I love them, thanks so much.
